Designer Jo Soh, a graduate of the renowned Central St. Martins, pulls together unexpected elements, creating highly-wearable pieces that suit spunky, confident women who can’t help standing out in a crowd. hansel, named after her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, made its impressive debut at the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in November 2003 at the highly anticipated New Generation show. Since then, hansel has garnered many accolades and regularly gets glowing reviews in the Australian and international press such as The International Herald Tribune and Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post. London-based online trends watchdog WGSN.com described Jo as a “total original” while Patty Huntington of The Sydney Morning Herald praised the label for being “ultra modern and fresh”. Influential design magazine, Wallpaper, has also endorsed hansel as a hot brand to know in their annual “Secret Elite” label directory in the January 2007 issue, and again in their “Secret Elite 2008” online edition in July 2008.
